Since 1830, the Indiana Historical Society has been Indiana’s Storyteller, connecting people to the past by collecting, preserving, interpreting and sharing the state’s history. A private, nonprofit membership organization, IHS maintains the nation’s premier research library and archives on the history of Indiana and the Old Northwest and presents a unique set of visitor exhibitions called the Indiana Experience. IHS also provides support and assistance to local museums and historical groups, publishes books and periodicals; sponsors teacher workshops; and provides youth, adult and family programming. The Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center, home of IHS and the Indiana Experience, is located at 450 W. Ohio St. in downtown Indianapolis. Normal operating hours for the History Center and the Indiana Experience are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on IHS, visit www.indianahistory.org.

WFYI Public Media has served the Indianapolis community as Indiana’s flagship PBS and NPR member station since October 4, 1970. WFYI has come a long way since signing on the air with a staff of nine employees, three black and white television cameras and a signal that barely reached beyond downtown Indianapolis. Free services now include digital television and radio programming, community engagement and lifelong learning, rich online program content and educational resources, and Indiana Reading and Information Services (IRIS). WFYI Public Media serves as a center of discovery through its award-winning television and radio programming, boundless opportunities for lifelong enrichment, community partnerships and signature events. It all started more than four decades ago and today Central Indiana residents and corporate supporters continue to support WFYI’s vision.
